WHAT IS THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK?

WHERE IS THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK LOCATED?

The Veterans Memorial Park is located on the corner of Broadway Street and 8th Avenue in Alexandria, Minnesota.

WHY DO WE NEED A VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK?

The purpose of the project is to establish a long lasting memorial and tribute to those who have honorably served in the Armed Forces of the United States, going back to the 18th Century.

WHAT WILL BE IN THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK?

The main focus is a life-size granite replica of the Liberty Bell. There are nine flagpoles displaying the flags of the United States of America, State of Minnesota, POW-MIA, Army, Army National Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. There are large granite monoliths standing in the park, engraved with the names of area veterans. Learn more here.

WHO IS PAYING FOR THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK?

The Veterans Memorial Park was built through donations from individuals, organizations and businesses. Learn more here.

CAN I SUBMIT A VETERAN’S NAME?

Yes. The Veterans Memorial Park Committee is receiving names of area veterans to be engraved on the monoliths in the park. Learn more here.

WHEN WILL THE PARK BE COMPLETED?

Dedication of the Veterans Memorial Park was held July 4, 2020.
